Rust-Proof Drapery Hardware

Custom rust-proof drapery hardware for coastal homes, island residences and hospitality projects.

Drapery hardware made for coastal living

Oceanfront homes, island villas and coastal hotels deserve hardware chosen for salt air and year-round humidity. Our rust-proof hardware collection pairs corrosion-resistant materials with clean design, from discreet ceiling tracks to decorative rods and French poles.

Choose the material and style that suit your space. CS Contract, CS Recess and CS Cord Draw use aluminum track systems. Our straight rods and French poles use 316 stainless steel, a trusted choice for many coastal applications. Select a surface-mounted track, a ceiling-integrated recess or a decorative pole to complement your drapery.

A complete approach to coastal installation. We help coordinate the rail or rod, finish, brackets, mounting and corrosion-resistant fasteners with your location. Long spans, heavy drapery and exposed installations receive individual attention. Supported CS Contract, stainless rod and French pole configurations can be priced and ordered online. Special tracks, long spans and unusual geometry are quoted personally.

General rust-proof hardware

Information common to every family.

What does rust-proof hardware mean?

Track systems use corrosion-resistant aluminum with durable finished surfaces. Decorative rods and French Poles are made from 316 stainless steel or receive a suitable finished coating. Choose the system and finish recommended for the intended location.

Which hardware family should I choose?

Choose Tracks for carrier-based pleated or Ripplefold drapery, Straight Rods for ring-hung pleated drapery and compatible rod-pocket, tab-top or grommet panels, and French Poles when you want the rod to return continuously to the wall.

How do I measure the overall width?

Measure the opening, then the usable space on the left and right. For an outside mount, add the desired side coverage. For an inside mount, provide the smallest clear width and allow the calculator to make the 1/2-inch fitting deduction.

How high should wall-mounted hardware be?

When possible, mount about 6 inches above the opening so the drapery header clears it. Other balanced choices include one-third, one-half, or two-thirds of the wall space above the opening, or the highest practical point.

Can this hardware be used outdoors?

The material is suitable for many exposed applications, but the full installation must be reviewed: finish, fasteners, wall condition, salt exposure, wind, fabric weight, and drainage all matter.

Are screen colors exact?

No. Lighting and displays change the appearance of black, bronze, stainless steel, brass, nickel, graphite and taupe. Request a physical sample when an exact finish match is important.

What is the maximum shipping length?

We can economically ship hardware up to 96 inches by standard FedEx or UPS service, subject to the final packed dimensions and destination. Longer designs can use properly supported sections and splices where appropriate. Full 20-foot lengths can be quoted for road freight, which is substantially more expensive and requires a custom shipping quote. The 96-inch shipping limit is separate from each product’s bracket-spacing rules.

French Pole measurements and installation

Returns, mounting height, fabric clearance and removable panels.

How do I measure a French Pole and its wall returns?

Supply the finished face width, the left and right return depths, and the planned rod-center height. Our sample radius drawing shows a 3/4-inch bend radius, a 3 1/2-inch wall-to-center projection and an extra inch at each end of its face length. These are dimensions for the illustrated configuration; confirm the chosen pole and bracket before ordering. Add a center support wherever a bracket-to-bracket span would exceed 96 inches.

How high should the French Pole wall plates go?

Choose the rod-center height for your window and drapery length, then mark both wall plates level from the finished floor. Our sample height drawing places the top wall-plate screw hole roughly an inch above the rod center: 111 and 110 inches for one room, and 98 and 97 inches for another. They are project examples, not universal mounting heights.

Will the drapery stack clear the French Pole curve?

Check the heading, ring spacing, return projection and available wall space before drilling. The supplied clearance sketch identifies 1 1/4 inches at a curved return as too tight for a bulky drapery stack. Provide room for the fabric to turn and gather without bunching at the wall; we can review a measured drawing during a design consultation.

Can a French Pole be opened to remove panels for storms or winter?

Yes, on the French Pole layout with a round pivoting wall mount and center strap bracket, specify the removable center option without the threaded stud. The two rod sections rest in the center cradle and are held by its thumb screw. Support both sections, take the panel load off, loosen the thumb screw, then lift the rod at the center and pivot it on its round mounts to slide off rings, grommet panels, tab-top panels or rod-pocket panels. Reseat both sections fully and retighten the thumb screw before use. Needle-nose pliers can carefully snug the screw if needed; protect the finish and avoid overtightening. This arrangement makes seasonal removal and storm preparation easier.

Coastal hardware frequently asked questions

Which hardware works well for coastal homes?

Our coastal collection includes aluminum CS Contract, CS Recess and CS Cord Draw tracks, plus 316 stainless steel straight rods and French poles. Choose the design for your drapery and mounting requirements, then let us review the actual exposure and complete installation.

Is rust-proof hardware completely maintenance-free?

Rust-proof describes the corrosion-resistant materials selected for these systems. Salt deposits can still affect finishes and exposed components. Routine care and correctly specified brackets and fasteners help keep the complete installation looking its best.

Can I use this hardware outdoors or close to the ocean?

Tell us whether the installation is indoors, sheltered outdoors or exposed to sea spray. We review the finish, mounting surface, fasteners, drapery weight and exposure before recommending the complete system. An oceanfront interior and a fully exposed terrace need different consideration.

What information should I send for a coastal project?

Send your location, photographs, window measurements, wall or ceiling construction, drapery heading and approximate fabric weight. Include any outdoor exposure, curves or long spans so we can recommend the hardware and installation details together.

How do I keep coastal hardware looking its best?

Remove salt deposits from exposed stainless steel using a soft cloth and fresh water, following the care instructions for its finish. Keep tracks free of dust and follow the manufacturer’s care instructions for the rail and operating components. Regularly inspect brackets and fasteners.
