What is the difference between inside and outside mount?
Inside mount fits within the window opening. Outside mount fits over the opening, on the wall or casing. Outside mount is the starting choice in this calculator; choose Inside if your window needs it.
How is the clutch hidden on an outside-mounted shade?
A stiffened matching-fabric side tab covers the end of the header. It is always 4″ long vertically, and its width matches the header depth. It is included for outside mounts only.
Does the side tab follow the first pleat?
No. Its length is always 4″, regardless of the first pleat position. The same fixed length applies to Flat, Pleated, Soft and Bar shades, including a flat shade with no top pleat.
Which controls can I choose?
Choose Cordless, Clutch with silver bead chain, or Slide winder with silver bead chain. All three are included in the displayed shade price. For a chain control, select Left or Right. Cordless does not need a control-side selection. The rear-view illustrations show the mechanisms: two separate rectangular boxes for a small cordless shade, a 1½″ aluminum tube for the clutch, and one connecting bar for the slide winder.
What measurements should I enter?
Enter the finished shade width and length in inches. For inside mounts, check the opening at the top, middle and bottom. For outside mounts, measure the coverage you want over the opening. The separate side tab is always 4″ long; do not size it to a pleat. If you are unsure about finished dimensions or header clearance, request a Design Consultation.
Can I enter fractional measurements?
Yes. Enter measurements in eighth-inch increments, or use the fraction selector beside the width and length fields.
Can I order several shades together?
Use Quantity for matching shades with the same size, fabric and options. Add a separate configured item for each different window size or set of options.
Will the illustration show my exact fabric?
The ivory images show the shade style and mounting detail. Your chosen fabric and colour are listed in the order summary; the illustration does not change to match that fabric.
